As part of Climate Action Live 2024, the organisation has created free lesson plans for schools around the world, to support young people in understanding the contribution they can make towards a more sustainable world.
Its central theme will be plant-based diets and helping young people to understand the impact that switching to plant- based food has in protecting the soils, seas and air.
Jeremy Gilley, founder, Peace One Day, said: “The health and survival of our planet is an essential element to global peace.
“If we do not inspire, inform and engage people across the world to make an impact on the fundamental issues facing humanity then we are set to remain stuck in a cycle of environmental degradation and resulting violence.
“Advocacy and activism are essential elements of this change, and I hope to see the passion and drive of this movement replicated by those with the power to enact change in government and industry.”
Last year, the Climate Change Committee (CCC) set out a list of five proposals to help improve businesses taking action on climate change in accelerating their progress towards net zero.
