Selfridges is responding to increasing demand for more sustainable shopping by expanding its Reselfridges second-hand and circular concept across all of its stores.
The department store said Reselfridges was now a “key component of its offering” in all its four stores.
In its flagship London store, Reselfridges will now be located at the heart of its Accessories Hall, three times bigger than before, it said.
It features second-hand and archive pieces, including a rare Dior camo saddle bag, and a Rasta belt bag from the John Galliano era.
The opening within its London store will be followed with a new permanent 3,000 sq ft Reselfridges circular fashion destination on the third floor of its London store.
In Manchester Exchange, meanwhile, Selfridges customers can expect pieces from Loewe, Goyard, Gucci and Bottega as well as vintage timepieces.
In Manchester Trafford, the Reselfridges concept includes vintage Burberry, Celine and Dior mini saddle bags, while in Birmingham it will offer Dior, vintage Fendi baguettes and V by Laura Vann pre-owned jewellery.
Selfridges also said it will continue its long-term partnership with Byronesque, experts in sourcing pieces.
In July last year, footwear brand Allbirds launched a new Carbon Concept pop-up in Selfridges’ Wonder Room to help customers visualise the carbon impact of their consumption.
Selfridges is part of the Sustainable Markets Initiative’s Fashion Task Force, an initiative aimed at the industry transitioning towards a more sustainable future.
