Nestlé has unveiled it reduced its absolute net emissions across all scopes by 13.5% in 2023.
In its latest sustainability report, the FMCG giant revealed it is halfway to its 2025 net zero target of 20% absolute emissions reductions and is planning further cuts reach a 50% cut in absolute terms across its net zero scope by 2030.
Through supporting its farmers in adopting regenerative agriculture practices, more than 15% of Nestlé key ingredients are grown in more regenerative ways.
Nestlé chairman Paul Bulk and chief executive March Scheider said regenerative farming as “at the heart” of its net zero roadmap.
“We are encouraged by the collaborative work with farmers and suppliers to reduce our supply chain emissions, particularly from dairy,” they added.
“Helping growers and their families as they transition to regenerative agricultural practices is vital in this task.”

Last month, Nestlé launched a KitKat new bar made with cocoa mass sourced from families enrolled in Nestlé’s cocoa income accelerator programme, which focuses on advancing regenerative farming.
Additionally, it has teamed up with other food and beverage giants to commit to a regenerative agriculture standard by the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI).
Other highlights from the report revealed that the FMCG company reduced virgin plastic against a 2018 baseline by 14.9% and showed that 83.5% of its plastic packaging is designed for recycling.
