Walkers is rolling out paper multipack bags across its Baked brand to all UK supermarkets following a successful trial exclusively at Tesco.
The PepsiCo crisp brand is set to eliminate 180 tonnes of virgin plastic year from outer packaging in its latest move and the new Walkers packaging can be recycled with other paper in home recycling bins.
PepsiCo sustainable packaging lead Gareth Callan said the FMCG company is “constantly innovating new ways” to remove virgin plastic in packaging across all brands by 2030.
“At this scale, the new Walkers packaging will deliver a huge reduction in virgin plastic, while also helping to lower our carbon footprint,” Callan added.
