Dove to restore 123,000 acres of Southeast Asian rainforest

Dove is partnering with Rimba collective to restore 123,000 acres of rainforest in Southeast Asia – nearly double the size of Birmingham city — within its new Dove Nature Regeneration Project.

The project will also support livelihoods based on forest-friendly commodities by improving productivity, enhancing product quality and providing better market access for local communities.

Dove global vice president Firdaous El Honsali said the brand believes “beauty should make our world more beautiful, not less”.

“Beauty of nature is under attack, and climate change remains one of the biggest threats we face. As a global brand used by millions, our scale demands that we act urgently to protect nature – and play a critical role in the effort to stop climate change,” she added.

Lestari Capital, the parent company of the Rimba Collective CEO Michal Zrust said Dove has “made it clear that nature is at the heart of its business strategy”.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Dove on projects designed to create long-term positive impact for biodiversity, communities and the climate in Southeast Asia – areas we are deeply passionate about,” he added.

The project forms part of parent company Unilever’s goals to regenerate nature, including “working to end deforestation within its supply chain, “as this is one of the biggest contributions Unilever can make to create a more sustainable world and maintain consumers’ trust in our products”.
